Improvements to rules visibility within the APEXX Intelligent Routing Engine (AIRE)
Announcement section
We will introduce an announcement section on the Portal to share important updates and communicate with you in a more effective and user-friendly way. This new section will be displayed on the home page while the announcements will stay up for 3 months.
Portal use improvements
- Partial refund visibility
As you know, it’s currently possible to perform multiple partial refunds on the same transaction up until the original transaction amount. Following feedback from our merchants that flagged that the way partial refunds were displayed on the Portal was not user-friendly, we decided to change it for ease.
Refunds will now be available from the dropdown menu on the Transaction list, and the refund option will differ depending on the transaction refund state. If a partial refund has already been performed, the Portal user will see what has been refunded as well as the refund amounts available. If a full refund has been placed, the refund option will not be available and information that the transaction can no longer be refunded will be displayed instead.
- One-Time Password (OTP) copying ability
If you were tired of having to memorise a 6-digit OTP whenever you logged into the Portal, we’ve got you covered. We will enable the ability to copy the OTP received into your inbox and to paste it directly into the Portal. Of course you can still memorise the OTP if you want to train your memory!
- Role management
We will release the ability to update roles across the entire merchant hierarchy in the Portal. Simply put, if you have a parent organisation with a lot of child organisations, you will be able to update the roles at parent level, instead of having to amend them for each child organisation. This will help you implement changes to the roles and privileges within your organisation much more effectively.
Rules visibility in AIRE
You will be able to check your rules with either a card view (currently available) or a table view. The latter will display all the information you need at a glance, including status, currency, and MID.
The rules will also be downloadable from the Portal directly to be reviewed in Excel.

New Gateway connection : ACI
We’re very pleased to announce that a new Gateway connection will be made available on the APEXX Platform to continue improving and building our gateway connections into acquirers. Connecting to ACI can give you access to some heavy-weight acquirers such as Truevo, eMerchantPay, and Paysafe to name a few. Get in touch with your Relationship Manager if you want to explore the new opportunities this connection could bring to your business.
Sanitisation of customer information
We’re committed to making sure that your transactions are accepted without any unnecessary declines, and in order to enhance our ability to do this we will be sanitising the customer information that we then pass downstream. This means that some cardholder details will be restricted on incoming requests (e.g. apostrophes, hyphens, special characters) ensuring that outgoing requests are clean, thus maximising acceptance
Original Credit declines mapping
Through one of our support queries, we located a little bug that had made its way into our Virtual Terminal. In some situations, an Original Credit would be shown as “Authorised” on our Portal even though it had been declined at processor-level. It doesn’t make sense, right? We didn’t think so either, so we introduced a more accurate mapping of declined Original credit transactions to be mapped against… Declined. Though the status name is not original, this should improve our merchants’ experience with our Virtual Terminal.
